Cream Cheese Butter Cookies

Cream Cheese. Butter. Cookies. amen.

Oh man, do I love these cookies!  I love making them. cutting them out. baking them. decorating them. eating them.  They are the perfect cookie for all the holidays.  I’ve made them for Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Halloween, birthdays, etc.

Cream Cheese Butter Cookies

  • 1 8oz pkg cream cheese
  • 1 c butter (can use margarine, but really better with butter)
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 3 1/2 c flour

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 2 1/2-3 c powder sugar
  • 3-4 Tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp almond flavoring
  • food coloring, optional

Cream together cream cheese, butter, flavorings, and sugar.  Add baking powder and flour, making sure dough is thoroughly mixed.  Refrigerate at least a couple of hours or until firm and you are ready to use.  Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Roll out medium sized amounts on floured surface.  Cut into desired shapes.  Bake for 8-10 minutes.  Let cool and then decorate with frosting.

Frosting:  Cream together all ingredients until thoroughly mixed.  Add more powdered sugar if you want a thicker frosting.

The one you probably can’t read says I love Mike 😀

And sometimes our hearts are broken (hopefully not this year, though!!)
